Angolan Deputy Grateful for Cuban Medical Cooperation PDF Print E-mail

HAVANA, Cuba, May 28. Angolan deputy Mateus Isable Junior expressed his appreciation for Cuba’s medical cooperation, during a meeting held on Monday in Luanda with Leira Sanchez, member of the National Bureau of the Young Communists League (UJC) of Cuba.

During the meeting, representatives of the parliamentary group of the Angolan Popular Liberation Movement reaffirmed the bonds of fraternity and friendship existing between the two peoples and governments and expressed their appreciation for the island’s contribution to that African country’s independence.

Cited by the Prensa Latina news agency, Junior underlined the current contribution made by the Caribbean island to his country’s development and recalled the support of Angolans for the cause of the five Cuban heroes, condemned in the US for warning their homeland about terrorist plans by Florida-based violent organizations.

He also reiterated his condemnation to the blockade maintained by Washington against Cuba for over a century now.

Sanchez called upon young people, social organizations, and parliamentarians from around the world, to continue joining the international campaign for the cause of The Five.

According to her agenda for this visit to the African country, the Cuban leader will present the youth of the Angolan Popular Liberation Movement with the medal “50th Anniversary of the UJC.”
