HAVANA, Cuba, May 23. National delegates and foreign guests coming from Algeria, Norway, Cape Verde, Mexico and Angola are taking part in the 1st International Workshop “Fishing, Contamination and the Environment”, which winds up on Thursday in this capital.
Rafael Tizol, president of the organizing committee, told the press that the meeting promotes exchanges of experiences in the face of commitments to achieve food safety. Actions damaging waters, possibilities offered by computer services to protect natural resources and ecosystems, and the control of exotic species, have been analyzed during the meeting, among other topics. The 1st International Workshop “Fishing, Contamination and the Environment”, organized by the Fishing Research Center, opened its doors on Tuesday under the sponsorship of the Bahia de La Habana State Working Group and the Marine Research Institute and the Meteorology Institute of Norway.
