HAVANA, Cuba, June 1.— Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, second secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party and first Cuban vice-president held talks in Havana on Thursday with Hu Chunhua, member of China’s Communist Party Central Committee and party secretary in the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia.
The two communist leaders addressed major challenges facing China and Cuba in tune with the accords reached by their respective political organizations in the face of the complex world situation.
Machado Ventura praised the good state of relations between the Cuban and the Chinese communist parties, while Hu Chunhua expressed his satisfaction for this visit which, he said, he always wanted to make since he was a leader of the Chinese Communist Youth.
Also present at the meeting were other Cuba Communist Party officials and the delegation being headed by the Chinese political leader, who have also met with local government officials and toured places of economic and cultural interest.
