HAVANA, Cuba, May 24.Intense maintenance that will increase the production and eradicate the deterioration of the cooling systems and vapor generating equipment is currently underway in the milk by-products industry in the province of Granma.
Attending to the major problems in the renowned installation at least two refrigeration compressors will be installed in each entity in addition to vapor equipment aimed at eliminating production interruptions by system failures.
That was confirmed by chemical engineer Raul Medida, general director of the Milk by Products company who told the official Granma daily that the reparation includes the factories of the municipalities of Manzanillo and Media Luna in addition to the El Alba Center dedicated to milk pasteurization and packaging and Helado-Queso both in the city of Bayamo.
He pointed out that the objective is for each center to be autonomous and that is why they restored the ice cream plant in Manzanillo including a pasteurizer in order to produce a variety of sweets for the population’s consumption, milk processes, previously treated, packed and distributed from Bayamo.
The Helado-Queso plant, he said, is a new equipment that reduces the amount of cream at the cheese factory, the recovery of all systems to produce ice cream and the total renovation of the isolation cap that will allow to surpass the plan of 1 million 270 thousand gallons of ice cream, said Medina.
The milk by-products industry in Granma will be able to significantly increase its contribution in almost all sectors which includes 42 products five of them exclusively produced in the southeastern province , said the official.
